Tempo

Tempo consists of the board and 40 pieces, 28 of which represent the common soldiers and 12 the officers. The game is played by two opponents, each receiving 14 soldiers and, for any promotions, 6 officers. The two opponents place their 14 soldiers in the last three ranks, on the positions marked by circles. The soldiers move along the prescribed paths to the right, left, and straight ahead.
